Find out how SEPT can improve your therapy skills.

Missy Wetterlund and Sara Werner have worked together over 15 years to create their own unique play therapy modality inspired by the work of Peter Levine and Dr. Byron Norton. Learn how character-based, interactive play can unlock insight and healing when coupled with somatic tracking and support of the nervous system.

What is Somatic Experiential Play Therapy?

Somatic Experiential Play Therapy (SEPT) utilizes play based metaphor and somatic tracking to support a child’s nervous system in therapeutic, child-directed, experiential play. SEPT is rooted in Somatic Experiencing created by Peter Levine and Experiential Play Therapy created by Byron Norton.

The integration of these two theories creates a fantastic mechanism for change that allows children to use their natural language, play, to find healing within.
