This training is a week long hands-on training in which you will learn about SEPT and experience hands-on learning in real time play therapy sessions. Each therapist will engage in at least 6 live play therapy session with a child while the trainers are watching live and guiding responses through bug in the ear technology. The live sessions will be followed up by an additional hour in which we dive deeper into play based themes and metaphors, somatic tracking, and self of the therapist issues.
We also have opportunities for those who would prefer to not work with a child directly during the training and observe the 28 sessions others are participating in throughout the week.
This training focuses on developing SEPT skills including the ability to understand metaphor and the power of play for children as they process their pain and trauma. Skills in being able to identify fight/flight/freeze responses in a child’s body during play will also be addressed and implemented.
